This retreat will be a relaxed review of the the techniques of meditation with ample time for their practice. There is no required text and lectures will center on questions students have about meditation theory and practice.

Daily Schedule:

07:00 Meditation

The day starts at 7:00 with a chakra meditation that is led for the first half hour and silent for the second half hour.

08:00 Breakfast

09:30 Asana and Meditation

The morning session will include reviews of the chakra techniques and theories.

10:30 Yang Yoga

After a short break there is yang yoga to move the blood and chi and to break a purifying sweat. Yang practice is more essential during programs of extended meditation. The yang practice is followed by another session of meditation, and then a long lunch break.

12:30 Lunch and Afternoon Break

There is a yin and a yang to everything and we believe that periods of mental focus need to be complemented by periods of rest and relaxation. Insights frequently come during our unguarded moments because the vasanas swimming in our unconscious come to the surface and reveal themselves.

17:00 Meditation and Yin Yoga

The afternoon session begins with pranayama and meditation, it ends with a relaxed yin yoga practice to stretch out stiff joints and relax the mind. The day starts quietly and ends quietly.

19:00 Dinner

A light dinner and we are officially done for the day but there is time to sit quietly, use the hot tub, or the sauna, or the pool, and stare up at the stars framed by a silhouette of redwood trees.
