The Bhagavad Gita
Seven Nights, Six Days, 30 hours.
August 18 - August 25, 2024. Seven nights, six days.
Mt. Madonna Center Watsonville, California, USA
Description: The Gita is a religious poem that is presented as a conversation between a troubled warrior and his beloved friend. It is full of beautiful passages of philosophical depth and spiritual inspiration. It has been read and studied by spiritual aspirants for over two thousand years.
There is also an allegorical reading of the Gita that reveals both the ancient sankhya philosophy of mind and the science of chakra meditation. This allegorical reading motivates the meditations we will practice.
Text: We will read through the entire Bhagavad Gita, an average of three chapters per day. Paul will read from Eknath Easwaran's translation. We encourage all students to read the Gita before they come to the course. And we encourage all students to bring with them whichever translation they prefer.
Our daily study will be balanced with asana practice and chakra meditation.
Tuition: US $1400.
Lodging: Ranges from US $610 to $2,206 depending on accommodation choice.
Please note: Each student is responsible for making their own lodging arrangements at Mt. Madonna Center. After you have paid your tuition, you will be sent a link to Mount Madonna's Guest Registration services. They will help you select accommodations that range from camping, to dormitory, to double, or single rooms.
